Computer Generated Keyword Indexing (up to 700 words)
Index your book with a list of key words searchable throughout your manuscript. We will create an index of the selected tagged words during the production of your book. A computer-generated keyword index will list alphabetically the selected words and the page numbers for each time it appears within your book.
Word selection is crucial and needs to be thoroughly thought-out in order to receive a successful index. Stay away from simple and commonly used words and focus more on words specific to the topic of your book and its contents. Analyze the significance of each word and develop appropriate cross-references.
Rutledge Hill can assist in highlighting your book’s content, making it easily accessible to your readers. The typical timeline for this service adds two weeks to the design process, depending on our work queue and the complexity of your work.
Note: Alphabetization is the only type of organization associated with concordance-type indexing and only exact words are matched when using this approach. A professional index service is highly recommended if your work requires an industry-standard index.
